endangered great white shark

White Shark

Also known as a great white shark or white pointer, this species of shark has been blamed for more attacks on man than any other shark – but in fact research shows the most human victims are quickly released.

An excellent swimmer, this shark cruises speedily through the sea, either at the surface or just off the bottom, covering long distances very quickly. It excels at small ,fast chases of its prey and can jump spectacularly out of the water. It normally lives in warm waters and occasionally can also be found in colder waters. Its length is 6m(20ft) maximum 8m(26ft) and Iit can weigh up to an enormous 2 tonnes or more. It is currently endangered because some people hunt this shark but that is not the only reason as they are also endangered because of marine pollution and decreasing numbers of their food sources.
